HeyGF is a browser-based AI girlfriend site with 141 ready-made, photoreal characters and a builder for making your own. It’s adults only, the NSFW pictures and video sit behind a paid plan, and the fun stuff is paid for in coins. This HeyGF review comes from the site’s own pricing page, terms, privacy policy and blog, read on October 12, 2026, so it’s what the site promises rather than a diary of my evenings with it.
What HeyGF is
A company called Y2A LLC runs it, with an address in Dover, Delaware. There’s no iPhone or Android app that I could find, and the site says you don’t need one, since it all happens in the browser. Getting in means ticking an “I am 18 or older” box, and that’s the only age check I could see.
The cast is the main draw. The Explore page lists 141 premade characters, mostly women in their twenties, with about thirty older ones if you keep scrolling. Each has a country, a job, a few personality tags and a backstory. Take Sienna Vale, the woman in the preview: she’s listed as a 28-year-old Manchester stylist, witty and observant, into pub quizzes, vintage hair clips and rating late-night chips. It’s all photoreal. HeyGF skips anime on purpose, and its own blog says so.
Chat, memory and the free tier
HeyGF is free to start, though only just. With no account you get five messages a day. Sign up and it’s thirty a day, no card needed. Voice notes, calls, extra pictures and video all need coins, and new accounts get a welcome gift of three, which covers exactly one picture. Cute.
On any paid plan the chat is unlimited. The site says every character remembers your name, your preferences and what you talked about last week, and that she reacts to your mood. A pricing page can’t prove that, so I’ll just say the claim is there. What I do like is the ground rules box in the chat settings, where you write how she should behave. It’s the cheapest fix for a character who agrees with everything you say.
Pictures, video and voice
This is where the coins go. Going by the price table in a September blog post from HeyGF, a picture in chat costs 3 coins, a voice note 10, a live call 1 coin a minute and a video 25. The site promises the same face and body from one picture to the next, and there’s a Girlfriend Studio for directing the shot yourself, with a guided prompt builder, instant variations and animation. The explicit side of HeyGF is real: NSFW pictures and video unlock on paid plans, and the chat is sold as uncensored.
Video has a new top tier. The “Best” model makes clips up to 15 seconds with sound, and the Explore page says every video is now up to 30% cheaper, so that 25-coin figure may already be stale. Older models give you shorter, silent clips. Every character also has a voice matched to her country, and free accounts can preview them. Live calls get their own banner on the Explore page (“Call Her For Real”), though the older voice page still says HeyGF sticks to voice messages rather than live calls. I’d check which one is true before paying for minutes.
Building your own
Building your own is where HeyGF gets properly fiddly, and I mean that kindly. You start by clicking through five screens of picture cards for ethnicity, body, hair and eyes, and then it asks what she is to you: girlfriend, best friend or something looser. The last page holds the name, the age (18 or over, always), a country, a voice, a handful of tags and some hobbies, and then three empty boxes, which are the interesting part. Say you want a vet nurse with a dry sense of humor and no patience for lateness. You’d type that into the job and description boxes, and her ground rules go in the third. Each character costs 20 coins to save, once, and there’s no limit on how many you make. Just don’t rush the first two boxes. They lock when you save.
HeyGF pricing and what coins buy
There are three plans, and chat is unlimited on all of them. What changes is the coin allowance. Casual is $9.99 a month and brings 150 coins. Closer is $19.99 for 350, and Exclusive is $39.99 for 800. Pay for a year and the bills are $99.99, $189.99 and $349.99, which the page presents as $8.33, $15.83 and $29.17 a month, with 1,800, 4,200 and 9,600 coins for the year. Yearly is also the only way to unlock each character’s full photo gallery.
Do the sums before you pay. At the listed rates Casual’s 150 coins buy 50 pictures or 6 videos a month, and then you’re out. The pricing page headline says “unlimited chatting, photos, videos & audio”. The About page and a company blog post say otherwise: coins pay for the media. Believe those. The “Save 64%” badge on Exclusive compares the yearly price with a crossed-out $80 that no plan charges. Against twelve monthly payments, yearly Exclusive saves about a quarter, which is fine, just not 64%.
Plan coins expire with each billing period, pack coins don’t, and a failed render gets its coins back automatically. Packs run from about 15 cents a coin down to about 5, so small top-ups are the pricey way to buy them. Cancelling happens in Settings and the plan runs to the end of the period. There are no refunds for part-used periods, packs are final, and billing errors get a case-by-case look. Cards show up on the statement as heygf.ai.
Who HeyGF suits
It’s for you if you want a big roster of photoreal women with actual backstories, plus a builder with a voice picker, and you’d rather pay for pictures by the coin than hit a daily cap. A chat-first person can live on Casual. A picture-and-video person will outgrow it fast and should price Closer or Exclusive instead.
Skip it if you want anime, a store app or one flat price. Two more flags. The privacy policy says your email and account ID can go to ad partners such as Meta and Google, which sits oddly beside “100% Anonymous” on the home page. And I found no Trustpilot page or Reddit threads to read, so outside feedback is thin.
HeyGF alternatives
Candy AI also pairs unlimited chat with a monthly token allowance for pictures, calls and video, and it’s cheaper on paper, from $3.99 a month on its 12-month plan (our review).
